Review: The Fault In Our Stars

I thought I’d review this as everyone appears to be talking about it and/or reading it at the minute – it keeps trending on Twitter and everything! Although annoyingly there are no spoiler alerts and people are spoiling it. So don’t search the trend unless you want to find out something you didn’t wanna know! As for this review – I won’t spoil anything

An Unexpected Posting

Hello again! Well, it’s been a long time – but as you can see I’ve been hard at work on a new theme. Ta-dahh! I hope you like it, I’m very happy with it – but I’ll also be tweaking and making modifications as we go. I’m always looking to improve my coding skills so with each layout I like to add something I haven’t tried before. This one uses Google Fonts and icon navigation rather than text, but I also want to try a responsive sidebar so I’ll probably work on that over the next week or so.

The October Club
Posted on 2nd October 2012 | Filed under Uncategorized | 0 comments
I am a day late, admittedly, but I only just found out about this cracking idea… If any of you don’t already subscribe to Carrie Fletcher’s YouTube channel – DO IT, DO IT NOW! In her latest video (hopefully this is the right link, if not let me know!) she has this idea that we should all read 4 books this October, either the same four as her, or a different four – it doesn’t really matter, as long as we all get reading!
Unfortunately, I don’t have any of the four that Carrie will be reading, so I’ll be picking my own four. I have a day less of this week now because I hadn’t finished the last book I was reading (The Hypnotist’s Love Story by Liane Moriarty) so I’ll run it a day behind Carrie’s and I’ll still try and stick to the one-a-week time schedule. So for the next four Tuesdays I shall hopefully post a review of the book I’ll have just finished

Brass Ring by Diane Chamberlain
Blurb:
The images were vivid, the sensations powerful, and the more she tried to fight them, the more they drew her in. Claire leads a busy, fulfilled and happy life, a life she wouldn’t trade for anything …and one that is about to change forever. When Claire fails to prevent a disturbed young woman’s suicide, the incident seems to trigger something in her – forgotten images of a long-lost sister and a childhood she had always remembered as being close to perfection. Realising that this was not the case, Claire runs the risk of uncovering the dark secrets that are locked away in her memories. Caught in a complex struggle between the present and past, between the man who wants to help her and the husband who cannot, Claire must discover the terrible truth for herself.

Happy August

Well it’s August and, as you can see, I put a new theme up. That last one… Well, it wasn’t very me. No-one who has ever spoken to me would ever associate me with the colour pink! I’m still very much experimenting with the whole personal feel of a blog, so prepare to see tiny changes every time you visit this site, because I’m just like that. I can’t just settle with things – perfectionist, or what?
I won’t lie, I’m not in the greatest mood today. My family has gone on holiday, so for last week I was living with just my dog and my lovely boyfriend, and it was awesome. But the problem is, my brother came home on Monday, a week before the rest of my family is due back (he was on a seperate holiday with his girlfriend, just for a week) so now I’m living with my dog, my boyfriend… and my brother.
